so long summer

#OOTD

Oh just sitting on these beautiful steps reminiscing about Summer.

Is it just me or does Summer always seem to come and go way too quickly? I'm pretty sure I know your answer. Each year before Summer begins I make a mental list of all the things I want to do, places I'd like to visit, and restaurants I'd like to try, in my own city mind you. And every year I'm lucky if I do half those things. At first I thought it was me, but no it's you Summer, it's you! You come and bring sunshine, carefree nights, and cute little dresses, oh how I love dresses. And before I could spend the day at The High Line, visit The Cloisters, or try Melba's famous Southern Friend Chicken, boom you're gone! Now I know what you're thinking, I could do all these things any time of the year, and you're right, but there's just something magical about the Summer time. Could it be the longer day light hours, the sound of the ice cream truck driving down your street, the beach, or those cute little dresses again....
All I know is that when Summer comes around I feel like a kid on the last day of school. Yup, that's the best way I can describe it! Fall may be my favorite season but saying goodbye to Summer is certainly bittersweet. Hope you had a great one!

rose & lime dress

fashion

I kinda, sorta live in dresses all summer long....
Found this one while looking through 'The Gram' (Instagram), saw it on a fellow Stella & Dot stylist and fell in love immediately! I asked her a few questions about the fit and she so generously and quickly replied. Side note, don't you just love your insta-friends?!?! Gosh I do!

The dress is from Rose & Lime, so of course I headed on over to their online boutique. Shipping was faster than I expected, always a nice surprise. It is bold and vibrant, flow-y and just so pretty. I paired it with a floppy hat, Jcrew Factory sunglasses, and my Madewell sandals. Oh and how cute is my grand-furbaby Winston! he can get in my shot any day! As always, thanks for stopping by.

Labor Day and Summer's end

banana republic

Yup it's official Summer is over! Well not according to the calendar but as far as I'm concerned September means bye bye Summer and Hello to my favorite Season....FALL!

In honor of Labor Day & the final days of Summer I'm wearing my white shorts. I kept it neutral with a black top and tan bag, I added a little pop of color and some sparkle with my lipstick, leopard sandals, and jewelry of course.

Summer comes and goes so quickly, I hope you all had a good one. Enjoy the little bit of Summer that's remains!

Little White Dress

accessories

My husband & I celebrated our Anniversary a couple of weekends ago. We spent Saturday afternoon at Brooklyn Flea's Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. Delicious food, sparkling beverages, yummy treats, and were lucky enough to enjoy some tunes by the band Great Caesar. This Brooklyn based band not only makes great music, they also help raise awareness and fight for equality & human rights. You can check them out (here).

Later that evening we made our way to Salon Millesime where we enjoyed a nice dinner, a few cocktails, and music by DJ Erika Hamilton. All in all it was a great weekend in my little white dress. Hope you enjoyed yours as well!

What I'm loving now!

Alex and Ani

As my good friend Vanessa Reyes would say "I need this in my life!" and that is why these Sam Edelman Trina Sandals are on their way to me!!! You can find yours here, here, and here.

A denim vest is a must have this Spring! It goes with everything, shorts, jeans, a maxi dress, florals, stripes, I could go on and on.... I'm loving this one from J.crew you can find some other options here, here, and here.

BB Cream...love, love, love it! I love the way it goes on, the way it feels, and I love the way it looks on my face. I use it under my makeup. It's available in a large variety of brands and prices at your local drugstore chain, Sephora, Ulta, etc.

At home Ombre, why not! If you're thinking about Ombre but aren't quite sure, I say try this at home product before you spend tons at the salon. My only recommendation is have someone put it on for you. I personally could not do this to myself especially the back of my hair. You can find this one from L'Oreal at your local CVS, Walmart, etc. Cost around $11-$13

I can't say enough about Alex and Ani Positive Energy Bracelets. Eco-friendly and made in the USA, each bracelet has a special message, meaningful word, horoscopes, birthstones, and so much more. They make great gifts for just about any occasion or just because (my favorite type of gift). I love stacking them, mixing them in with other pieces to create an arm party, or pairing a few with my watch. This Mother's Day I received the Mom & Love bracelets from my boys!

What are you loving now? I'd love to hear from you, please leave your comments below!
